God’s Hill Wines has long been a cherished part of the Lyndoch community. Founded by Charlie Scalzi in 1998, the winery reflects the traditions of the Barossa Valley and Charlie’s Italian heritage. From a young age, Charlie was immersed in the art of winemaking, starting at the age of six when he would crush grapes for his grandfather in Italy. This early experience ignited a lifelong passion for wine, which has been passed down through generations.
Since establishing God’s Hill Wines in Lyndoch, Charlie has been committed to producing premium small-batch wines that reflect the region’s unique soil and climate. The vineyard, now spread over 30 acres, produces exceptional Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chardonnay—wines that capture the essence of Lyndoch’s terroir.
Beyond winemaking, God’s Hill Wines has always been deeply committed to the local community. Charlie’s passion for wine and his dedication to traditional methods have made God’s Hill a proud supporter of local events, including the Lyndoch Street Party. This event, returning to the main street for the first time in 20 years, celebrates the town’s vibrant spirit, and God’s Hill Wines is honoured to be a part of it.
As a boutique winery, Charlie remains focused on quality over quantity, ensuring that each bottle of wine tells the story of his family’s heritage and the richness of the Barossa Valley. God’s Hill Wines is more than just a winery—it’s a testament to the values of tradition, community, and passion, making it a perfect partner for the Lyndoch Street Party.
